    • Built pixel-perfect UIs from PSDs and learned the ABCs of UI/UX.
    • Wrote mini-games in JS from scratch — gravity, collisions, the joy of `requestAnimationFrame`.
    • Found out I liked this whole 'getting paid to write code' thing.

  • VOICE AGENTS · WORLD 1-5

    The voice agent that wouldn't shut up at 3am

    Built a real-time voice-to-voice AI assistant on Gemini Live. It learned to say 'I understand' before I did.

    We needed an AI agent that could pick up the phone, sound human, and actually help — not the IVR menu from 2003. It runs on Gemini Live, streams audio bidirectionally, and handles interruptions like a polite person who's used to them. Customer engagement went up, the call-center backlog went down, and somewhere along the way it picked up a habit of agreeing with everything I said. I'm pretending that's a feature.

  • IN-HOUSE MIGRATION · WORLD 1-5

    The great in-housing of 2025

    Migrated critical third-party scheduling + workflow platforms to in-house systems. Spreadsheet smiled.

    Some vendors were billing us per breath. We replaced the load-bearing third-party platforms with in-house systems we actually controlled — scheduling, workflow orchestration, the lot. The migration plan had 47 steps; the rollback plan had 3 ('don't, fix forward, call Saroj'). Outcome: lower run-rate, faster iteration, and product roadmaps that no longer started with 'subject to the vendor's release cycle'.

    I dodged your meeting to study for the AWS exam

    AWS Solutions Architect — Associate, certified. Then I went and used it.

    Got the AWS SA-A certification and immediately put it to work on the production stack: Fargate-backed services with SQS for back-pressure, RDS for the boring-but-load-bearing data, S3 + Lambda for the long-tail ETL, and CloudWatch for the dashboards we actually look at. Cost-aware architectures, not 'sprinkle EC2 until it works'. Side effect: I'm now the person whose Slack DMs start with 'quick question about IAM…'.

  • MENTORING · WORLD 1-4

    Sleeping is when the team grows fastest

    Mentored engineers across the levels — from 'first PR' to 'staff-track candidate'.

    Walked engineers through system design, code reviews, and the gentle art of not over-engineering things. Built growth paths, gave hands-on support on the gnarly problems, and made sure standards stuck around even when the people moved on. Best part: junior engineers I onboarded are now mentoring the next round. Closest thing to immortality I've found that doesn't involve writing a book.
